12 Feb Public worship remains suspended
Following a joint meeting of the DCCs it was felt, overwhelmingly, that we should remain closed for public worship, especially while the strict national lockdown continues and cases of COVID, albeit down, are still high.
We agreed to pay heed to what the Government may announce on 22 February and, if this includes schools or other areas of society beginning to open up on 8 March, then our churches could follow suit.
We appreciate that this decision will bring disappointment for some. Nevertheless, with a fair wind, perhaps Sunday 14 March (Mothering Sunday) would be the first Sunday back; so help us, God.
Our churches remain open for private prayer at the times listed in the weekly notices, and details of services for Ash Wednesday will be shared soon.
O God, make speed to save us; O Lord, make haste to help us
